Terms of Use
These terms apply to the Bokado app, operated by Marshall Relay Limited ("we"). By using the app you accept them together with Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If these terms and Apple's agreement conflict, these terms prevail where the law allows.
1. What the app does
Bokado estimates calories and nutrients of meals from photos, descriptions and barcodes, keeps a food diary and offers targets, forecasts and suggestions. Estimates are produced by AI and nutrition tables and are shown with a range: they can be wrong. Check and correct them when accuracy matters to you.
2. Not medical advice
The app is a general wellness tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Its suggestions, including the AI nutritionist's answers, are general information, not medical or dietary advice. Consult a doctor or a registered dietitian before significant changes to your diet or activity, especially if you have a medical condition, an eating disorder or a history of one, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take medication. You must be at least 16 years old to use the app.
3. Free plan and Premium
- The free plan includes everything that works without the AI: meals put together from the food table, barcodes, the diary, water and workouts, the weekly numbers, the daily target and the goal forecast.
- Premium and Max unlock the AI: photo analyses, voice and text logging, the AI nutritionist, "What to cook" and the plan's suggestions, each with a daily allowance shown on the subscription screen (Max allows more per day). A free trial may be offered by Apple as an introductory period of the subscription: it requires a payment method on file and turns into the paid subscription unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Besides the daily limits, every subscription period has a fair-use AI allowance that depends on what the period costs; a free trial and gift days have a fixed allowance. Ordinary use stays well within it; if it is used up, the AI features come back at the start of the next subscription month or with the renewal, and everything else keeps working. How much of it is used is shown in Profile.
- Premium subscriptions are sold by Apple through the App Store at the price shown before purchase. They renew automatically for the same period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel them in your Apple Account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
4. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service: no automated or bulk requests, no attempts to break, overload or reverse-engineer the servers, no unlawful content, and no use of the service to build a competing dataset. We may limit or suspend access that breaks these rules.
5. Your content
You keep the rights to the photos and texts you submit. You allow us to process them to provide the service as described in the Privacy Policy. You can delete your data at any time in the app.
6. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may change or discontinue features; if Premium features are removed while you have an active subscription, you can request a refund through Apple. We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version.
7. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is", and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for decisions made on the basis of estimates shown in the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law or your statutory consumer rights.
